Q) Is your furniture fully weatherproof?
A) Yes, all of our furniture is fully weatherproof. The aluminium frames are extruded and powder-coated, ensuring they won’t rust or fade. The fabric on our furniture is water-resistant, making it difficult for rain to penetrate. The cushions contain fast-drying open-cell foam, allowing them to dry quickly after heavy downpours. Our fabrics are sunproof, stain-resistant, and 100% recyclable. Additionally, our poufs, scatter cushions, and rugs are made from recycled plastic bottles and can be cleaned with a light pressure wash or machine washed. Our teak wood is untreated, giving you the choice to preserve its natural colour or let it weather beautifully.
Q) Do you offer nationwide delivery and installation?
A) Yes, we offer delivery and installation across the UK mainland. Remote areas may incur an additional charge.
Q) What is the difference between the Rota and Maranza pergola models?
A) Both pergola models have the same functionality, featuring a built-in gutter system that channels rainwater down through the legs. The Rota pergola stands taller at 250cm when closed and features vents parallel to the shorter side. It can be operated with single or dual roof systems, depending on the model size. The Maranza pergola is slightly shorter at 230cm and has multiple roof sections, offering more control over ventilation. Both models are below the planning permission height limit and can have side options retrofitted.
Q) Is the pergola roof weatherproof?
A) Yes, the pergola roofs are weatherproof under typical British conditions. The louvres allow rainwater to drain into the guttering system and down through the legs. In extreme weather, some minor leakage may occur if water overflows the drainage system.
Q) What are the typical lead times for delivery?
A) Lead times depend on the model, size, and colour. We aim to deliver within 10-14 days for delivery-only orders and between 3-6 weeks for installations. These times may vary during peak periods or depending on location.
Q) Can the pergola be dismantled and reassembled if I move home?
A) Yes, it is possible to dismantle and reassemble the pergola if you move.
Q) Does the pergola require maintenance?
A) Very minimal maintenance is required. The frame can be cleaned with general cleaning products or a pressure washer, and the gutters can be cleared using a jet wash.
Q) Can the pergola models be customised?
A) Yes, pergolas can be modified to a certain extent, but alterations may void the warranty. For example, pergola legs can be shortened to suit a wall or platform, but precise measurements are required.
Q) Can you install a pergola on a sloped surface?
A) Yes, our pergolas are designed to work on a slight slope to allow for drainage. For surfaces with a greater fall than 1:80, please notify us in advance so we can make adjustments.
Q) Can the middle legs on a 6-leg pergola be removed?
A) Yes, if the structure is installed against a building, the middle leg on the building side can be replaced with a wall bracket. However, all other legs are required to support the structure and drainage system.
Q) Can the pergola louvres be removed?
A) Yes, the louvres can be removed and replaced if necessary, for example, to clean windows on a building nearby.
Q) Do the pergolas have a warranty?
A) Yes, all aluminium pergolas come with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. Weather screens and sun screens have a 2-year warranty.
Q) Do pergolas require planning permission?
A) Typically, pergolas do not require planning permission as they are semi-permanent structures that can be dismantled and moved. However, certain height and location restrictions apply, particularly in conservation areas or for listed buildings.
Q) What’s the difference between sun screens and deluxe screens?
A) Sun screens are suitable for light breezes and feature a spring-loaded system. Deluxe screens are built into the frame on all four sides, making them more durable in windy conditions. Deluxe screens are also weighted, allowing more flexible positioning.
Q) Are the pergolas wind and storm resistant?
A) Our pergolas are semi-permanent structures and can withstand typical British weather. For extreme weather, we recommend keeping the louvres slightly open to allow wind to pass through.
Q) Will the pergola frame rust?
A) No, the pergolas are made from hardened aluminium and are rust-resistant.
Q) Are other colour options available for the pergola?
A) Pergolas are available in two standard colours: Matte Royal Grey (7016) and Matte White (9016).
Q) Do you offer bespoke pergola sizes?
A) While our standard models cannot be customised, we do offer fully automated bespoke pergolas starting at £1,250 per square metre.
Q) What surface is required for pergola installation?
A) Pergolas must be installed on a solid surface, such as a concrete pad or decking with structural joists. Groundworks should be completed before installation. We can provide a floor plan showing where the pergola footplates will be positioned.
Q) Can the pergola be attached to my building?
A) Yes, but the external legs are required for drainage. We can install the pergola flush to the wall with additional flashing to seal any gaps.
Q) Can I add side options to the pergola later?
A) Yes, side options can be retrofitted to an existing pergola frame. Additional installation charges may apply unless the installation delay was due to stock availability.
Q) Do you supply and fit optional accessories like heating?
A) Yes, we supply heaters starting at $300, which can be self-installed or fitted by an electrician.
Q) Can I build the pergola myself?
A) Yes, all models come with instructions for self-assembly. Basic DIY skills and two additional people are recommended for the installation.
